What is a mission trip?
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Mark16:15. Sounds familiar eh? It was some of the last words Jesus said to everyone. One of our most important commandments, we’ve given a name to those trips we make to do just what Jesus told us to do, mission trips. Now you ask, what is a mission trip?
Well a mission trip is a trip that you take and go into the whole world and preaching the gospel to the people of all the nations. It may mean all the way across the world or it could mean just go into your own school and tell them about Jesus. It’s for God and you to decide. A mission trip has no set time, it could for your whole life or it could just be for one week. If you think this is something you want to do, something God has put on your heart then go into prayer, ask God. And go for it, there are many ways you can go. With your church or with one of the many organizations out there. But remember going into your school to preach the gospel is just as important as going to a different land and doing the same thing.
Why go on a mission trip?
Why should anyone go on a mission trip? Because it was one of the most important commandment Jesus himself told us to do. (Mark 16:15) Now, not everyone is called to go travel and do the sharing of the gospel yourself, you may be called to give money or just left them up in prayer. It is all important. But mission trips are amazing, you are sharing Jesus to those who were hopeless until you came and showed them that there is hope in this world! If you are wondering if you should go on one or if you feel a tugging at your heart when you hear about missions, go to God about it. He will tell you where you play in the big plan of Gods.
