Jesus warned us in the Scriptures, "Watch ye therefore,
and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these
things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
(Luke 21:36).
For those who have repented of their sins, and love the Lord Jesus Christ, the plagues and destruction outlined in the Book of Revelation hold no fear over them. Paul told the church at Thessalonica, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
Today, this very minute, you can be counted worthy to escape the wrath to come and to stand before Jesus Christ with assurance on the Day of Judgment. You can repent of your sins, and surrender your life to Christ, and have assurance of eternal life...today.
God is a Good Judge
Perhaps you are thinking that since God is a good Judge, He will let you go free and not hold you accountable for your sins. After all, you are a good person, right? If a judge in your town let a condemned prisoner go free, even though the evidence was heavily against him, you would think that this judge is corrupt. Wouldn't you? But God is a good Judge, and because He is good, He cannot let the guilty go free.
Can you honestly say that you have never broken not one of God's laws?
Can
you
say that you have never broken one of the Ten Commandments? Of course
not. The Bible says that all have sinned, and that there is not one sinless
person upon the earth. (see Are you a good person?)
Before you come to Christ, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. And you must repent or turn away from your sins and surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
Jesus has paid the price for you on Calvary. Now it is up to you to accept what He has done for you by faith. You need to understand that.....
1. God loves you!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but
that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
2. You are a sinner, separated from God
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
3. Jesus is the only way to God
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18)
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
"Christ died for our sins... he was buried... he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures... he appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that he appeared to more than five hundred..." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6)
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" (John 14:6)
4.
You must receive Jesus as Lord and Savior
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3)
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that called on His name" (John 1:12)
"That is thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9,13)
Do you feel the Spirit of God touching your heart right now? Do you feel Him drawing you to Him? Do you acknowledge you are a sinner in need of a Savior? If you do, don't turn Him away. You don't know what tomorrow holds. "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2).
