Prove it !

I know when you sit down and when you rise up... Psalm 139:2

Sure, we all say that we love God, but does He know we do? Do we live in such a way that He never has to doubt our love? John Prove it!14:15 , says, "If you love Me, keep My commandments." Wow! How many times have I broken a commandment? Does that mean that I don't love God? No! Of course not. This verse is directing us to prove our love to God by being obedient to Him. And why shouldn't we prove our love? He did! "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." (John 15:13) Hmmm…sounds oddly familiar…oh yes! I remember now. Jesus laid down His life for me, His friend. Why then, should I not desire to lay down my life for Him in submissive obedience?

Now, this may seem like a great mountain to climb. There seems to be so many commandments to try and keep. But look at what the Apostle John says in 1 John 5:3, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are NOT burdensome." So that means that if I truly desire to show Him my love, I can and will obey Him. Not of my own strength, but through His grace I will have the ability and desire to do so.

Do you love God? Prove it!
