Question:
Hello, I am 14 and I live in Delaware. I have an issue I would like to discuses with you.... For the longest, most painful time.. I have felt so dry towards god’s non-stopping love! I have talked to three pastors, and not one little thing that they have said has helped me. I can’t get ride of it. I prayed, read my bible, sang songs, PRAYED, talked about god.. But nothing, nadda. Zip. I feel nothing. I know he’s there, but WHY WON’T HE COME OUT FROM HIDING! I'm getting so mad that I cannot be in tune with god... and nothing.. Nothing at all. is helping.. So if you can just tell me what to do.. I will love you forever (if it works)
Answer:
Hi my name is Joshua and I am part of the suppor team. When I read your heart
felt question, this song came to my mind:
You are all, Big and small, Beautiful And wonderful To trust in grace through
faith But I'm asking to taste For dark is light to You The Depths are height
to You Far is near, But Lord I need to hear from You
chorus:
Be near O God
Be near O God of us
Your nearness
Is to us our good...(our good )
Your fullness is mine, Revelation divine But oh to taste, To know much more than
a page To feel Your embrace For dark is light to You The Depths are height to
You Far is near, But Lord I need to hear from You
Be near O God
Be near O God of us
Your nearness Is to us our good...(our good)
I believe we all have moments in our lives where we feel that God is hiding from
us and we feel so far from him. I have been there many times in my life.. My
question to you is do you really have a personal relationship with Jesus? Have
you trusted him to save you from your sins? The truth is God cannot be near to
us, if we have not trusted Jesus to save us from our sins. Our sins separate
us from God and the only way to reach God is through Jesus. Jesus says this in
John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me." If you do not have a personal relationship
with jesus, go here http://christianteens.about.com/library/weekly/aa041400a.htm
because that is where you need to start.
Do not give up on drawing near to God, because the Bible tells us if we draw
near to God he will draw near to us. James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will
draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye
double minded. There are many things that cause us to feel far from God.
1. Sin in our lives. If there is sin in our lives that we are not dealing with,
then it builds a wall between us and God causing us to feel far from him.
2. Not being consistent in Bible reading, prayer and Church attendance. If we
do not have a daily pattern of Bible reading and prayer, we can feel far from
God because the Bible says that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Also
if we do not attend Church weekly we can drift from God.
3. Getting to busy with the world. When we spend to much time focusing on this
world: where we are going to go, what we going to do, what movie to go see, where
to go to work etc... we can lose touch with God...
KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING! DO NOT GIVE UP AND WE WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU.....Hope
that helps a little......There will be others replying to your question and I
hope that together we can be of some help to you....
